Job Title: Technical Project Manager & Mentor

Company Overview:
Nebraska Innovation Labs is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping non-technical founders navigate the complex process of building a technical Minimum Viable Product (MVP) at an affordable cost. We achieve this mission by pairing experienced mentors with interns and junior developers to guide the development process. Once the MVP is completed, founders have the option to hire our talented development team to continue enhancing their product.

Position Overview:
We seek passionate and skilled individuals to join our team as Technical Project Managers and Mentors. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting non-technical founders as they bring their ideas to life. This position offers flexibility, with a commitment of approximately 5-8 hours per week, and provides compensation for your expertise and dedication.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a Technical Project Manager for one or more projects, overseeing a small team of interns and junior developers.
Collaborate with founders to understand their vision and provide strategic guidance throughout development.
Contribute your expertise in various aspects of web application development, including API design and development, database architecture, front-end and back-end development, and more.
Occasionally offer programming expertise to assist the team in overcoming challenges.
Facilitate client meetings and provide innovative solutions to address project hurdles.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in web application development
Prior experience managing or contributing to small to mid-sized developer teams.
Comfortable with managing interns and junior developers.
Knowledgeable in API design, database architecture, front-end and back-end development, and related areas.
Familiarity with AWS or Azure is a plus but not required.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Requirements:

Graduated or about to graduate from any Computer Science program.
Proficiency in full-stack web and app development, with an emphasis on Front-End Language Frameworks (Angular or React), JavaScript, Backend Technology Frameworks (Node.js and ExpressJS), and PHP Web Development.
Experience in creating Windows applications using C#.
Basic knowledge of Database Management Systems, preferably SQL Server or MySQL.
Familiarity with Version Control systems for managing app project source code.
Knowledge of NoSQL Databases is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with Web & Cloud Hosting Platforms is beneficial but not mandatory.
Strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and project requirements.
Must be able to work on-site in the Old Mill Area of Omaha.
Passion for creating real products that serve customers and their end-users.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with our development team to design, develop, and maintain full-stack web and app applications.
